To convert a fraction to a percentage, divide the numerator by the denominator and multiply by 100. Formula: Percentage = (Numerator / Denominator) × 100. For example, 3/4 = (3 ÷ 4) × 100 = 75%.
You can also convert by making the denominator 100: 3/4 = 75/100 = 75%. This works cleanly when the denominator divides 100 (denominators of 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100). For other denominators, direct division is faster.
Fractions to percent conversions appear constantly in test scores (17/20 = 85%), probability (1/6 ≈ 16.67%), cooking (1/3 cup ≈ 33.3%), and statistics (3/8 of respondents = 37.5%).
Percentage = (Numerator ÷ Denominator) × 100
