Tip Calculator

Reviewed by CalcMulti Editorial Team·Last updated: ·Percentage & Ratio Hub

The tip calculator computes the gratuity amount for any bill using a percentage you choose. Common tip percentages in the US are 15% (standard service), 18% (good service), 20% (great service), and 25%+ (exceptional or counter service).

Formula: Tip Amount = Bill × (Tip% / 100). Total = Bill + Tip. Per person = Total / Number of people. You can also find what percentage tip was left: Tip% = (Tip / Bill) × 100.

Tipping customs vary by country: US and Canada tip 15–20% at sit-down restaurants; UK adds 10–15% if no service charge; Australia tips ~10% informally; many Asian countries do not have a tipping culture. Always check local customs.

Formula

Tip = Bill × (Tip%/100) | Per Person = (Bill + Tip) / Number of People

Tip%
gratuity percentage (15%, 18%, 20%, 25%)
