Rectangular Prism Volume Calculator

A rectangular prism (also called a cuboid or box) is a 3D shape with six rectangular faces. Its volume is the product of its three dimensions: V = l × w × h (length × width × height). A cube is a special case where all three dimensions are equal.

The surface area is the total area of all six faces: SA = 2(lw + lh + wh). This tells you how much material you'd need to wrap the box. The diagonal of a rectangular prism (from one corner to the opposite) is d = √(l² + w² + h²).

Rectangular prisms are the most common 3D shape in everyday life: boxes, rooms, bricks, books, swimming pools, and shipping containers are all rectangular prisms.
